Amaco Opalescent Glaze OP23 Sapphire Blue
This stunning glaze is an active low-fire (cone 05) glaze which breaks clear over texture and will pool in a rich, electric blue where the glaze has been applied thick. With the tendency to break and expose clay beneath, it works beautifully on textured clay or clay that has been underglazed in a contrast colour.
AMACO’s Opalescent glazes come in a range of colours and can be layered or mixed to combine colours.
Firing Temperature: Cone 05
- Cone 05 – 1046°C (at 150°C/hour for the final 100°C of firing) / 1915°F ( at 270°F/hour in the final 200°F of firing)
Food Safety: AP Food-safe when fired.
General Use:

- Mix well.
- Apply 3-4 coats of glaze to get the most contrast. Allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat.
- Fire to cone 05
